Rococo Style Chair by Heinrich Dübel
1854

The private rooms and the state rooms of Emperor Franz Joseph I were on the principal floor of the Reichskanzleitrakt of the Hofburg Palace in Vienna.

The furniture for the Emperor's study was made by Heinrich Dübel, a cabinet-maker who later on was appointed purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Court.

The richly carved palisander furniture in the blondel (Rococo) style with gilt-bronze mounts was used by the Emperor until his death. The furniture is still to be seen in the monarch's former study in the Kaiserappartements of the Hofburg Palace in Vienna.
