Hotel Henry was established in 2017. In 2020, due to the stress of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Hotel Henry closed. In 2021, the hotel was leased from the nonprofit Richardson Center Corporation by the [Douglas Jamal] Douglas Development Corporation. In March 2023 the hotel reopened with a new name: the Richardson Hotel. The hotel has a total of 88 rooms. The
hotel buildings include the center tower
building, two connecting corridors, and two flanking
pavilions. [The remaining buildings await restoration and
development.]

“Essentially,
after removing the drop-tin ceiling, it was revealed that the
roof of Building 12 was a vaulted ceiling. Holding everything
together are two very large wooden beams. They required
emergency work since they were extremely brittle. “The ones in the
hotel are on the 4th floor, which is
specifically for suites!” - Patrick F. Ryan, Cultural Curator, Richardson Olmsted Campus | Lipsey Architecture Center Buffalo
