Moulding/Molding                        Illustrated Architecture Dictionary

Bolection moulding

A raised  decorative molding, especially one having flat edges and a raised center, for framing a panel, doorway, fireplace, etc.

Molding is a type of trim, but bolection molding is a more grand, decorative version.

Bolection molding is an ornate detail that makes molding look attractive.

Moulding vs molding:  "Moulding" is British, "molding" American, but some of the American industry use "moulding."
