The
original owner was Andrew
Simson, a photographer. In 1885 Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Simson lived
there
with two other Simsons, although Kraus owned the property. Simson
helped found Upson and Simson. After 56 North Pearl, he later moved to
5 North Pearl. He retired in 1900. When he died in 1922, he
was recorded as being Buffalo's oldest photographer. At that time, he
had been living on St. James Place. - Sonia R.
