A Burial Ground for Cremated Remains of Church Members

Once it was common to find a burial ground surrounding the village church. Calvary Churchyard, however represents a very new idea because it provides only for the interment of cremated remains. Therefore, it is not a cemetery in the usual concept, and it is not designed to "look like" a cemetery.

The wall is made of the same granite as the Church; it is located ten feet inside the sidewalks.

The slabs of slate each measures 18" x 36", on which can be incised names and dates of eight persons whose ashes are interred on the plot of ground at right angles to the wall.
