A new corporation: F. W. Woolworth and Co. In 1912, five "friendly" rivals in the 5 & 10-cent business, including Seymour Knox (far fight), met in New York City to discuss how to expand without overlapping and competing with each other.

from this meeting, a new corporation is formed, known as F. W. Woolworth and Co., with Seymour Knox as a vice president.

By 1915, the corporation owned and operated over 800 stores in the United States, Canada, and England, but he 5 & 10 cent store remained a purely American institution.
