Photo is of a walking stick believed to have been owned/used by Richard Caudell. It was made after 1865 and is a Civil War relic. The bentwood "L" shaped handle is made from wood of the Civil War Surrender Oak. Written on the end of the handle is: "from live oak under which last surrender of Civil War took place May 4th-1865.
