Neoclassical style - Diana's Gallery

The decoration of this room which Henry IV had built for his queen, is devoted to the myth of Diana and the king's victories.

In ruins in the beginning of the 19th century, the room was reconstructed by by Napoleon I and its new decor finished during the Restoration.

Diana's Gallery, 80 meters long and 7 meters wide, was converted into a library by napoleon III in 1858. It contains nearly 16,000 volumes from the library of Napoleon I at Fontainebleau. The globe of the world, placed here in 1861, was made for Napoleon I in 1810, and used by him in the Tuileries Palace.
