Master bedroom


Woodwork and wallpaper (none original) were stripped and plaster repaired throughout the house. 


Original Federal style fireplace; pointed Onondaga limestone fireplace wall; restored brick hearth.

Original 12-inch-wide floorboards



Left lath work is new;  right is original.


ACCORDIAN LATH: This started off as a large hung sheet of wood.  The horizontal strips were split hanging on the wall.  This style lath was used until 1840, when sawn wood lath, a real time and labor saver, became widely available.

Restored original fireplace.



Restored lath work using sawn laths  - as opposed to orignal accordion laths.



Lighter colored wood in fireplace and on the floor are reconstructed pieces.



Reconstructed oval and rectangle on the fireplace frieze.



Repointed Onondaga limestone wall and hearth



Woodwork and wallpaper (none original) were stripped and plaster repaired throughout the house.  All the windows in the house were replaced in 2005 with period appropriate (Federal style) 12 over 12 panes from Germany. 2 types of wavy glass were used.
