Eght huge Osiris pillars depicting the deified Ramses
II linked to the god Osiris, the god of the Underworld, to indicate the everlasting nature
of the pharaoh. The colossal statues along the left-hand wall bear the white crown
of Upper Egypt. Note also the Uraeuses (cobras) Osirid: A pillar that is mostly in an open court or portico with a colossal statue of a king forming its front part. |
