Second floor rotunda Albright-Knox Art Gallery through window Second floor rotunda. The first floor rotunda is a design element in the Center building to honor the wishes of Charles Burchfield that his season transition paintings be displayed in a circular museum. (see first floor rotunda caption). The second floor rotunda is part of the reception area. The east elevation of the Center faces Elmwood Avenue; the north elevation faces Buffalo State College. The Center, basically a two story rectangle, was angled 8 degrees so that Buffalo State College's Rockwell Hall and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery are seen straight ahead when viewed through the windows.
