These three statues are part of a set that includes a crucifix that is not owned by the museum. All three are named in the gosepls as being present at the Crucifixion at Golgotha.
St. Mary Magdalene is sometimes depicted with Adam's skull which tradition holds was buried in Golgotha ("the place of the skull).
