The Great Sphinx lies on the east side of the complex, facing east. The shape
is that of a reclining lion with
a human head. Current consensus among Egyptologists is that the head of the Great
Sphinx is that of Khafre. It is the largest monolith
statue in the world, standing 241 ft. long, 20 ft. wide, and 65 ft. high. Great Sphinx
