Detail - Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman

Double lancet window, each housed in in an architectural canopy. The canopies in the space above the figures are a device first introduced in the fourteenth century when Gothic cathedrals began to soar and windows became taller and narrower.

The scene is framed by ornate architectural canopies in trefoil shape encasing a pinnacle ornamented with crockets and topped by a finial. Below the crockets are scrolling acanthus leaves.
