"On the Old Erie Canal, Tonawanda, Circa 1850"
by Thomas Scovio, 1976

"When the church was made into a museum [1976],  the management at Chevy in the town wanted to contribute to the project and we convinced them to have one of their artists, Tom Sgovio, do two paintings, one of the Eberhardt Mansions and one of the canal towpath thru the town.

"Thus the painting hagning in the musuem was done by Tom Sgovio who also did many other historic sites and buildings around Western New York."

- Joseph, Grande, 1976 President of the Tonawanda-Kenmore Historical Society and Museum
