The Center for the Study of Art, Architecture, History & Nature (C-SAAHN)         Sponsored the following presentation: 2010 - 2011 Downtown Library Noon-Hour Lecture/Discussion Series "Imagining Buffalo Niagara in the 21st Century" Presented by: Sherra Babcock Director of Education, Chautauqua Institution Thursday, April 28, 2011 Sherra Babcock, Director, Education Department, Chautauqua Institution, presented an overview of both Chautauqua and its various educational venues. These include, The Lecture Platform, The Chautauqua Literary & Scientific Circle, Special Studies, Writers' Center, Smith Memorial Library, Oliver Archives Center, and Cohen Recording Studio. Education is one of the four pillars that have defined Chautauqua since its inception in 1874. The other three pillars are Art, Religion, and Recreation.
