Many additional selections made last summer are up since they were made, but up less than the S&P500.
A few selections are down for the year.
None of these selections are to be seen as investment recommendations, but simply a discussion group activity.
The point of this report is to demonstrate that the insights of
Chautauquans are worth listening to - which is the purpose of the
discussion group.
We plan to be at the Smith Library again this 2013 Season every Monday at 3:10 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.
Hope you can join us,
Dennis Galucki

Note:
Dennis Galucki retired in 1998 after over a 30 year career in the
investment field, the last 17 years as Vice President - Investments for
Dean Witter (now Morgan Stanley).
In the Fall of 1987, he was listed in the 15th Anniversary Issue of
MONEY Magazine as one of Americas 100 "Best Stockbrokers" noting his
unique "Invest in Life" philosophy and idea.
From November 2002 to February 2008, he served as a trustee and
volunteer investment adviser for the Landmark Society of the Niagara
Frontier (now Preservation Buffalo Niagara).
He was featured in the Buffalo Business First magazine
for his idea and investment philosophy "Invest in the Life of Your
Community," and a 5 year performance record for the Landmark Society
that doubled the S& P 500 on an average annual return basis (26.3%
vs. 12.6%), while being diversified in 50 companies - half of which had
a significant local presence. Cash for the endowment fund had been
recommended from the Spring of 2000, when he became a trustee until
October of 2002, when the new equity asset allocation was recommended
to the Board. On February 11, 2008, the recommendation was made to go
entirely back into cash equivalents. The endowment funds were then
recommended to be given to the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo
to manage.
