Valance

1 - A balanced scroll on the lower edge of a cross member, typically the skirt.

2- A decorative finishing device over the top portion of draperies. It may be made of fabric, wood, mirror, etc. it can also be designed to o over window frames, doorways, or the hangings of the tester of a bed.
