Built between 1755 and 1765 by Anselmo Lurago according to the designs by Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer, it is the most beautiful Rococo building in Prague.

In February 1948 Klement Gottwald proclaimed Communist rule in Czechoslovakia from the palace balcony. On the same day, but 42 years later, the President Vaclav Havel declared that the era was over forever.

Today, the Kinsky Palace belongs to the National Gallery.
