St. Boniface, the Apostle of Germany (680-754), donated by Joseph and Anna M. Krumholz. The oak that is chopped down represents the sacred oak of the "pagan" Germans. Although Boniface and 30 of his companions died as martyrs, he established Christianity in northern Europe. |
