Music for Stained Glass Windows

Suggestions that enhance interpretation of the themes depicted in the medallions

DATE:

June 16, 2002

The compositions listed in the following table will be recorded by the Westminster Choir, and then used as background music. It will be incorporated into a digital video presentation. Sound level of the music will be modulated to support voice narration. The listener views all the window medallions while the voice narrative explains the theme, Biblical content, and general information about donors, historical facts, etc.

To get started and generate interest, we can use the digital photos I took of each window and their medallions last fall.  This could produce a PowerPoint presentation that can be put on a CD to be played on the owner’s PC. Then we could find a member with a Digital Camcorder and editing skills so we use panning/zooming for a dynamic viewing with motion, like a TV show that can be viewed either on a PC or in a home DVD player.

Eventually, if there is sufficient financial support for this program, we will want to incorporate professionals but we can get a good idea of what we want to say and how to view windows first, avoiding high creative fees later.
