Nave and sanctuary.
In keeping with the Eastern Orthodox rites, the polygonal sanctuary at the end of the
nave is raised several steps above the nave floor.
It is screened from the main body of the church by a Gothic style wooden inconostasis (a screen or
partition on which icons are placed, separating the the bema from from the nave of
an Eastern church. Also, "iconostas.") that rises to the level of the
springing of the chancel arch.
The four silver icons (only two visible in photo) on either side of the inconostasis
are from the Elm Street church.
