In the lower panel of the middle column are the figures of Mary and John at the foot of the Cross.

The inscription reads "Behold thy Son" revealing the theme of this window, which is based on the Gospel according to St. John the Evangelist (
John 19:25-27).

Just above these figures is a phrase "They saw a fire of coals" from
John 21:9 which is a post-Resurrection appearance of the Risen Lord.
