One of two mobile "marine legs" equipped with a "loose leg" with a continuous vertical conveyor belt that could be lowered into the hold of a ship docked on the Buffalo River. The vertical conveyor belt had "buckets" that would scoop up the grain. When the bucket reached the top of the conveyor, grain would be dumped into the elevator.
